2021 – The Year Close to Normal
Despite Corona restrictions, we did enjoy a certain amount of freedom of travel with our dogs. Travelling from Switzerland to Germany, Austria, Hungary and Great Britain was possible at the expense of administrative efforts and testing. All trips turned out to be rewarding for humans and dogs alike. In retrospect, 2021 can be considered an almost normal year, at least for retired people like us.

Kurze Trainingseinheiten – für Mensch und Tier – wurden auch mal ins «Gym» im Haus verlegt. / Short training sessions were relocated into the «gym» of our house – both for man and animal. 
Für einige Wochen wohnten wir im Winterkurort. / Our hometown turned into winter wonderland for quite some time.

So nebenbei erlangte Brandy die Zuchtzulassung und ist nun zudem auch noch geprüfter Jagdgebrauchshund. / Brandy now also is approved working gundog and he is licensed to breed, too.

Karnickel finden überall Deckung und Höhlen; gutes Training für den Geruchsinn der Hunde. / Rabbits find plenty of cover or holes to hide; still good training for dogs› sense of smell. 
Fasanen suchen vor den Hunden in Hecken Schutz oder fliegen – wenn es denn sein muss – auch mal weg. / Pheasants run for cover or – if absolutely necessary – just fly away. 
Kein Spaziergang ohne kurze Trainingssequenzen – und Zeit, Leute und Landschaft zu geniessen. / A must during any walk with the dogs are short training sessions. Quality time to enjoy the unique landscape and the people around, too. 
Während Claudia noch in Whitethorn weilt, spaziere ich mal wieder zum Irchelturm … / While Claudia still enjoys the country life at Whitethorn, I take a walk to the tower on the Irchel … 
… und bewundere – einmal mehr – die Aussicht bis weit über die Landesgrenze. / … with it’s spectacular view far beyond the border to Germany 
Zufrieden blicken wir zurück auf … / We are looking back on …
